They're there so people using a screenreader or navigating with their keyboard don't have to hear/tab through every blasted menu option every time. That would be annoying, don't you agree? Some people just put the menu later in the HTML and move it with CSS, but man, think what a pain that is too. So I have these, and they're visible for keyboard-navigating reasons.
